Rocket fire range from Gaza to Israel
Just in case my previous post lulled you into thinking that the ceasefire was holding after a shaky start, today the situation has returned to its previous violent status.
Last night 3 Grads were fired at Beer Sheva while today more Grads were fired at Netivot. Thank G-d the rockets either landed in open areas or were intercepted by Iron Dome.
Nevertheless the school day has once again been suspended for pupils in the south, bringing much of its economic life to a halt too as parents must stay home to look after their children.  (From the first link above):
Still, following the renewed rocket fire the Beersheba Department of Education has decided to suspend Thursday’s school day.
The decision was echoed by several other municipalities in the south, including Ashdod, Ashkelon, Kiryat Gat, Kiryat Malachi and Gan Yavne.
Yet we get the following surreal statement (same link) from the authorities:
A political source told Ynet that “at this time Israel will not respond to rockets fired at the south since the ceasefire took effect,” adding that “After each round of escalations we see what is known as the ‘tail’ – a few hours during which there is still some fire, as if to show that they have the last word.
That is exactly what the terrorists want – they need to have the last word, which in effect gives them the control over our security and our livelihoods. This is a patently absurd attitude and incomprehensible given the character of the terrorists.
When will we ever learn?
