CA DEM PARTY CHAIR: RYAN, GOP LIKE NAZIS

 3 Sep 2012, 8:19 AM PDT

Democrats across the country are in full meltdown over the growing possibility that their favored candidate, incumbent President Obama, may lose to Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. And, exercising Godwin’s Law, they’re already labeling Ryan and the GOP Nazis.

Monday morning, California Democratic Party Chair John Burton explained, “They lie and they don’t care if people think they lie … Joseph Goebbels – it’s the big lie, you keep repeating it.” According to Burton, Ryan told “a bold-faced lie and he doesn’t care that it was a lie. That was Goebbels, the big lie.” When reminded that Gov. Jerry Brown (D-CA) once made a similar comment about his 2010 gubernatorial opponent Meg Whitman, Burton doubled down: “[Bleep] that’s right, she won the election! … He won it big. Goddam he was in trouble.”
Burton also called Ryan a “horse’s ass.”
The San Francisco Chronicle, which reported the comments, didn’t fact-check Burton. In fact, the paper took it as a fact that Ryan did indeed lie during his nomination acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention (they called it “distortion,” without evidence), even though he did no such thing. Ryan’s speech was 100% wholly and completely factual.
But Democrats and their friends in the media don’t like fact. They prefer the glorious fictions of their glorious leader. And they don’t seem to care whether they make light of the Nazis, demonize Republicans, or act with utter unconcern for common decency, so long as they achieve their desired effect.
This is what a desperate campaign looks like. And the Obama campaign is indeed desperate.
