Americans Stand with Israel - 3rd Anniversary

AMERICANS STAND WITH ISRAEL

This week marks my Third Anniversary blogging.  I began with "Americans Defend Israel" in December, 2009.  However, that blog began running as slow as molasses and had to begin anew - with "Americans Stand with Israel".

To-date, I have had over one-half a million views.  Now, that may not seem a lot for the amount of years posting here, but every reader, every "view", is deeply appreciated.

I had to slow down this year due to many personal issues.  However, time does not stand still and neither does the rush of news in relation to the Middle East and our own foreign policies.  I look forward to continuing to share informative news articles and commentaries of tremendous authors, plus some beautiful music videos in the coming New Year.  May the year 2013 be a little kinder than this past year!

Thank you, each and ever American patriot who visits this blog and thank you for your E-mails of encouragement.  And, for those living in the Middle East, may you understand the privilege Americans celebrate through their freedom to express our opinions, without having our heads, arms and legs cut off for disagreeing with the President of our nation.

And, I could not end this note without expressing my appreciation to Israel - the first country to send the USA a message of condolences, for the great tragedy we suffered yesterday, in losing 27 Americans to one gunman bent on murdering little school children and their teachers.  Thank you, Prime Minister Netanyahu and all my Israeli friends who sent letters (and videos) of sympathy toward us.

Meanwhile, my daily newspaper is available at the link below:

Following is the text of the letter that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent to US President Barack Obama:

"Dear President Obama,

I was shocked and horrified by today's savage massacre of innocent children and adults at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.

We in Israel have experienced such cruel acts of slaughter and we know the shock and agony they bring.

I want to express
my profound grief, and that of all the people in Israel, to the families that lost their loved ones.

May you and the American people find the strength to overcome this unspeakable tragedy.

With my deepest condolences,

(Signed)

Benjamin Netanyahu,
Prime Minister of Israel"

We Should Arm Every Teacher To Prevent Another Connecticut Elementary School Massacre

Meanwhile, at an elementary school in Israel...

Israeli teachers on school excursion carrying guns with them. We need more of this to prevent school massacres.

Ateacher's son rampaged through a Connecticut elementary school today killing 20 small children and six adults 1, a tragedyPresident Barack Obama used to subtly suggest as a reason to weaken and eventually abrogate the Second Amendment 2.
It is too bad that the school officials at Newtown, Connecticut did not read my article Camp Shooting - Norwegians Need Israeli-Style Protectionand implement my suggestion that we arm our teachers just as Israeldoes so that perhaps fewer children would have died in today's school rampage. Since the 1970s after Israel instituted the program of armed citizen guards in the schools, not a single child has been murdered in an Israeli school 3.
I ask my readers to sign the petition on the White House Website: HERE:
WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:
A gun in every classroom. Arm every teacher and principal to defend themselves and their students during an attack.
If teachers and principals are armed and trained to defend themselves during a school attack there would be fewer casualties and less attempts to attack schools.
Fact: Crime rates decrease when the people are better armed.
It is time we gave our teachers the ability to defend themselves and stop pretending like a door buzzer is enough of a defense. Take a stand for school safety. Arm the teachers and principals today. A gun in every classroom will protect our students from massacres like the one in CT today.

Some readers may object that there are too many guns in this country. The real problem in today's shooting is the Federal Ban on guns in schools. The shooter went into two classrooms. An armed teacher in the second classroom, knowing what happened in the first classroom could have shortened the reign of terror and saved lives.

Notes

(1):
A man killed his mother at home and then opened fire Friday inside a Connecticut elementary school, massacring 26 people, including 20 young children, as youngsters cowered in their classrooms and trembled helplessly to the sound of gunfire reverberating through the building.
The shooter, who sources identified as Adam Lanza, 20, shot his mother, Nancy Lanza, in the face at their home in Newtown, Conn., then went to nearby Sandy Hook Elementary School where she taught and gunned down her entire class, bringing the death toll to 28, according to sources.
Lanza was found dead inside the school, according to officials. Eighteen of the children and six more adults were dead at the school and two more children died later, according to Connecticut State Police Lt. Paul Vance.
(2):
The White House said President Barack Obama supports reinstatement of a federal ban on assault weapons -- a position he took in the 2008 campaign but failed to press during his first term.
"It does remain a commitment of his," presidential spokesman Jay Carney told reporters as the nation reeled from a mass shooting in Connecticut that mainly killed school children.
An emotional Obama did not address that issue directly in a televised statement from the White House on the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown that killed 26 people but said something had to be done.
"We're going to have to come together and take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics," said Obama, the father of two girls.

backwoodshome.com, May/Jun 2003, In time of war - The Israeli answer to terrorism
Israel began the program of armed citizen guards in the schools after the Maalot massacre in the 1970s, when a large number of children were slain in a terrorist incident. The volunteer parents work in plain clothes, armed with concealed semi-automatic pistols, and are trained by Israel's home guard. It is significant that in the more than a quarter century between Maalot and the incident mentioned above when the citizen guards shot down the terrorist in the school in 2002, not a single child was murdered in an Israeli school!
The reason is that Israel wisely publicized the fact that the civilian volunteer guards, indistinguishable from the regular teaching and administrative staff, would be in place. It served as a tremendously effective deterrent.

Bee's note:
Bernie is correct!  I have had Israeli friends sending me photos last night of ways in which the Israeli children are protected, by having teachers and trained armed volunteers travel with the classes on field trips throughout the year. America has federal and state gun laws; however, when evil individuals or gangs wish to kill, rob, or do both, no amount of gun laws prevent someone from obtaining a weapon of their choice to use.
The Number One gun law is older than our nation: "Thou shall not kill" ... ! (Some versions of the Bible use the word "murder").
Perhaps it is time to use Israel's example in protecting our own children here in America.

Egypt is falling apart so Obama is giving them more F-16's

by Carl in Jerusalem

Tuesday, December 11, 2012

Egyptians are rioting because they have realized that Mohammed Morsy is no less a dictator than Hosni Mubarak. Egypt's economy is on the verge of total collapse. Egypt is continually issuing threats to abrogate its treaty with Israel. And the US economy is teetering on the edge. So what does the Hussein Obama administration do? It gives the Egyptians another 20 F-16 fighter jets at US taxpayer expense of course (Hat Tip: Shy Guy viaJihad Watch).
The first four jets are to be delivered to Egypt beginning Jan. 22, a source at the naval air base in Fort Worth, where the planes have been undergoing testing, told FoxNews.com. The North African nation already has a fleet of more than 200 of the planes and the latest shipment merely fulfills an order placed two years ago. But given the uncertainty in Cairo, some critics wonder if it is wise to be sending more top gun planes.
'Fulfills an order'? How does someone with no money place an order? Let me guess.... The Egyptian government has credit cards. Who pays the bills?
“Should an overreaction [by Egypt] spiral into a broader conflict between Egypt and Israel, such a scenario would put U.S. officials in an embarrassing position of having supplied massive amounts of military hardware … to both belligerents,” said Malou Innocent, a foreign policy analyst at the Cato Institute. “Given Washington's fiscal woes, American taxpayers should no longer be Egypt’s major arms supplier.”
Not to mention that most Americans would take Israel's side in such a conflict.
But about that order...
The U.S. government ordered and paid for the fighter jets for Egypt's military as part of foreign aid for Egypt back in 2010, when Hosni Mubarak ruled. The fighter jets were supposed to be delivered in 2013, and delivery will go ahead as scheduled even though Hosni Mubarak has been removed from power and replaced by Mohamed Morsi, who led the Muslim Brotherhood before becoming Egypt's president.
So let me get this straight: The US government ordered the jets, the US government paid for the jets... so why can't the US government just cancel the order or send the jets elsewhere?
Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, (R-Fla.), who chairs the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, recently criticized U.S. military aid to Egypt:
“The Obama administration wants to simply throw money at an Egyptian government that the president cannot even clearly state is an ally of the United States,” Rep. Ros-Lehtinen said.
The $213 million order, which is paid for by U.S. taxpayers and is part of Egypt's foreign aid package from America, had to be approved by lawmakers in Washington. While the basic F-16 has been a military workhorse for top air forces for more than 25 years, the cockpit electronics are constantly updated and the models Egypt is getting are the best defense contractor Lockheed Martin makes.
"This is a great day for Lockheed Martin and a testament to the enduring partnership and commitment we have made to the government of Egypt," said John Larson, vice president, Lockheed Martin F-16 programs. "We remain committed to providing our customer with a proven, advanced 4th Generation multirole fighter."
So Obama is trying to save jobs at Lockheed Martin? Let him give those jets to the US Air Force....
A Pentagon spokesman said the U.S. and Egypt have an important alliance that is furthered by the transfer.
"The U.S.-Egypt defense relationship has served as the cornerstone of our broader strategic partnership for over thirty years," said Lt. Col. Wesley Miller. "The delivery of the first set of F-16s in January 2013 reflects the U.S. commitment to supporting the Egyptian military's modernization efforts.  Egyptian acquisition of F-16s will increase our militaries' interoperability, and enhance Egypt's capacity to contribute to regional mission sets."
Name one to which the Egyptians have contributed.
Last month, State Department official Andrew J. Shapiro explained why the administration plans to continue military aid to Egypt:
“I know that the uncertainty over the Egyptian transition has prompted some in Congress to propose conditioning our security assistance to Egypt. The administration believes that putting conditions on our assistance to Egypt is the wrong approach, and Secretary Clinton has made this point strongly. Egypt is a pivotal country in the Middle East and a long-time partner of the United States. We have continued to rely on Egypt to support and advance U.S. interests in the region, including peace with Israel, confronting Iranian ambitions, interdicting smugglers, and supporting Iraq,” he said.
None of which Egypt has done until now except for a cold peace with Israel, which may be on the verge of collapsing.

What could go wrong?
